We can do workshops on a variety of topics, for all age groups.  Here are some examples of our more popular workshops.

Wild Edibles
Join us as we discuss collecting and preparing wild plants common to the forests, fields, wetlands, and cities of southern Ontario.  Learn recipes to keep and species to avoid.
Instructors: Crystal Bradford and Liam Kijewski

Designing Low Maintenance Gardens with Native Plants
Learn how to use local conditions and native plants to create landscapes that save energy, water, and effort.  Topics will include low water, full sun, shade gardens, rain gardens, seasonal interest and how to encourage / discourage wildlife.  Bring a layout of your yard and start planning for beautiful gardens.
Instructors: Crystal Bradford and Liam Kijewski

How To Build a Rain Garden
Soggy yard? Dry yard?  Learn the many benefits of sending your rainwater into the ground instead of the ditches or sewers.  We will discuss the start to finish process of making a rain garden, including how to size your garden, appropriate plants and maintenance.   Rain gardens are great for reducing contamination in the natural waterways, as well as recharging your groundwater.

Instructors: Crystal Bradford and Liam Kijewski

Gardening for Wildlife

Learn how to make your property a wildlife retreat.  We will be discussing how to attract wildlife in urban and rural areas and how to provide food, water, and shelter for various species.  We will also discuss how to deter nuisance species.  There will be a focus on increasing biodiversity and using native plants.
Instructors: Crystal Bradford and Liam Kijewski
