Species putting Species at Risk!
Watch out!  These pretty species maybe harming the ones that are native to our neck of the woods and maybe doing more damage than you realize in your garden.  Plants escape from our ponds and gardens in various ways, by wind, garden compost or by animals.  If a bird lands in your pond they can collect invasive species like eggs, snails and plants and land in a natural water system spreading the fast growing aggressive species, the possibilities are endless.  Invasive exotic species are a problem because they can out compete the native flora and fauna species that are naturally found in the area.  The plants that are native to the area are vital to wildlife who often have specific diets and host plants for feeding young.
